SyFy is pretty band about not promoting their shows and cancelling them when they aren't an instant hit. The show had a great story based on the Butcher books, the acting was only so-so, but it would have improved. Part of the "Law & Order" formula was to change up the characters. This was probably done to get the audience used to departures which would ultimately meant the show would last longer. It worked for the original L&O, but maybe not CI.

"Combat Hospital" is a Canadian show that may return in Canada, but in the U.S. it was dropped by ABC. "Cougar Town" will be back soon. "Flashpoint", another Canadian show, was dropped by CBS but will return on the Ion network. It was called "Cover Up" and ran on CBS from September 22, 1984 to April 6, 1985. Jon-Erik Hexum was the actor / model who accidentally shot himself in the temple with a blank and died, ending the series.

I wasn't a fan of "SportsDome" but "Sports Show with Norm Macdonald" I thought was good.

T.L. - Thanks for the kind words. I don't have the numbers from back then to give you the specifics, but I do remember the re-runs being pulled for two reasons: 1. F/X was (at the time) looking to go with more original first-run shows and distance from showing re-runs of the parent network (FOX) to take on rising cable giants TNT and USA. 2. Ratings just weren't there. Hope that this helps. Sorry I don't have an exact ratings breakdown for you.

The show you're having trouble finding in the mailbag section sounds like the show "Free Ride" which aired on FOX during the 2005-2006 TV season. It lasted like 5-6 episodes. The plot sounds the same. Guy finishes college, has to move home, jock from high school befriends him even though the main character hates him, etc.

Jimmy Smits comeback wasn't much of one... Remaining episodes of "Outlaw" will air on Saturday nights until they are burned up. The other show you are looking for - would it be "Cold Case"? "Cold Case" was cancelled back in May 2010.

The description you have for "Here Come the Newlyweds" is incorrect. It goes with "The Baby Borrowers." "Here Come the Newlyweds" was a combination of the Newlywed Game and Big Brother. Couples had to compete in competitions and every week someone was voted out by the other couples. They also did a lot of exercises/activities to bring themselves closer together as couples.

I'm not too surprised. Leno pulled in better numbers in that time slot and that's what it's all about. I do agree that Conan did have a weaker lead-in than Jay had, and that was probably a major factor. NBC has their work cut out for them. They have to rebuild pretty much everything in prime time to please the affiliates for their lowered ad revenue and poor news lead-in, and they have to hope that Leno will go back to topping Letterman, let alone Conan on another network.

Thats a tough one. It's not that I dislike all shows that take place in NYC, it's more that I think that it shows a lack of creativity and understanding of the audience on the part of the show creators and network executives. As soon as I see that something takes place in NYC, I know that not a lot of thought went into it.

Trauma cost way more than a cable nts budget would cover, so it won't be picked up by USA or TNT...
